Early Years

Welcome to Early Years

In EYFS, the most important thing is that we all feel secure, happy and loved. We learn to care for each other and keep everyone safe, having lots of fun in the process of exploring and learning through play.

Parent Observations in Early Years

In Early Years, we get as excited as you do watching your child grow and develop, and would like to celebrate all their achievements – whether they happen at school or at home with you. We would love to hear from you about the things your child enjoys or achieves. It helps us to create a ‘well-rounded’ picture of who your child really is.

Early Years Skills Festival

Reception thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to go to Durham University to further develop their physical skills. We experienced eight different stations which included parachute games, hurdling, relay, ball skills, balancing and negotiating space. The children also learnt how to keep their bodies healthy.

Holy Week

To mark a very special week in the liturgical calendar we retold the stories from Holy Week and enabled the children to experience this through drama, art, meditation, song and prayer.

Tees Valley Music

Thank you to Tees Valley Music for a two week programme to help enhance our musical skills through listening to rhyme, counting beats, exploring many instruments and creating a great Early Years percussion.

World Book Day and Storytelling
To celebrate World Book Day, the children came as their favourite characters from their chosen stories. We had a great day listening to stories! The children enjoyed being authors and illustrators. We also had the pleasure of welcoming Chris Connaughton into our school.

Super Hero Day/ E Safety Day
As part of our Super Hero topic the children enjoyed dressing up as thier favourite charachter and learnt how to saty safe whilst using the internet.
