St Thérèse of Lisieux Catholic Primary School

Section 48 Denominational Inspection

On the 30th April and 1st May 2018 we had our S48 Denominational Inspection. The inspection was over 2 days and led by inspectors from the Diocese of Middlesbrough. They observed lessons, collective worship, spoke with pupils, staff and leaders and looked at pupils’ work and achievement and progress in RE.

We are extremely proud of our school and we were judged to be outstanding in all areas of the framework.

The inspectors reported that:

St Therese is an inspirational and outstanding school. The mission statement ‘Live in Love’ permeates every aspect of school life. ‘

‘Relationships within the school and between the school and parish are outstanding.’

‘Provision of Catholic Life is outstanding. This is because the mission and ethos of Catholic education underpins all that the school does. The well-being and personal development of all pupils and staff is at the heart of the faith community’

‘Leadership and Management are outstanding. Leaders are excellent role models and an inspiration to all’

St Therese staff are extremely conscientious in their vocation and provide a strong sense of spiritual purpose.

‘Pupils at St Therese of Lisieux are empowered to take on roles and responsibilities enabling them to make an outstanding contribution to their school community. ‘

‘Pupils enjoy their learning immensely and are able to discuss their next steps in learning with confidence and enthusiasm. ‘

‘The school is extremely effective working with parents who claim the school has surpassed their expectations’
