Year 2
Welcome to our Year 2 class page!
Class teacher – Miss Hill
In Year Two, our curriculum is jam packed with new and exciting learning opportunities that make our learning journey irresistible. We always try to give 100% in everything that we do to be the best that we can possibly be! We are striving to become independent learners.
Homework & Reading
In Key Stage 1, we send home a half termly ‘Homework Menu’ which is linked to our topic. It is up to you and your child how many tasks you wish to complete; maybe you want to do one in detail (as a large main course), or try a few if you’ve got a big appetite for homework (starters and dessert!). They can be handed in as and when you complete them over the course of the half term. They will be shared with the class and displayed as part of our topic work.
Listening to stories with your child and regular support with their reading book is very important, thank you for your continued support. The children will be sent home a new book every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On a Friday there will also be a piece of homework to be completed and returned by the following Wednesday, which may include a piece of English and Maths to consolidate what the children have learnt in school that week. The children will also receive weekly spellings to practice at home, in preparation for our spelling test on a Friday.
